Descrizione:The relationship between physical activity and HIV is summarized in this paper. It has been speculated that physical exercise may delay signs and symptoms of HIV infected people. Up to date research suggests that physical activity may improve physiological and psychological parameters among HIV patients. However, caution must be made when prescribing physical activity because a poor exercise prescription may impair a patient's health. So far, no single research studying the relationship between exercise and HIV has been made in Costa Rica, therefore, it is needed to lead efforts in this field. Interdisciplinary approaches and appropriate research designs are recommended if serious investigations will be made.
