Disgrifiad:Beauty and ugliness are concepts which depend upon time and place; this is a statement from Umberto Eco in his text where he studies the History of both concepts. This paper analyses the novel Vida que olvida (2008) by the Panamanian writer Justo Arroyo. This story uses the process of Panama’s independence to tell the story of the Regalado family. Pedro Regalado, his wife Antonia, and his three daughters Martina, Nicolasa and Aminta are singular characters who moves between the beauty and the ugliness; they flow between what you can see with the eyes and what is inside.
