| Popis: | Álvaro Cubillo of Aragon is one of the principal playwrights of the first Calderonian epoch, of the time in which the reform gets in the dramatic practices till then in effect in the comedia nueva. His texts receive increasingly attention from critics. This paper studies the use made of the gracioso, of the funny character, in his plays, the characterization that has received, his form of construction, the functions entrusted to him. And all this in order to outline the nature of his contributions to the Spanish theatre of the Golden Age, and to define the position held its creation in the history of the Baroque comedia nueva.
