| الوصف: | Recent comparative studies confirm that the association between the approval of the current president and the flow of votes for the ruling party in Latin America has been more robust than previously thought. Simultaneously, a good part of the cases in which a divorce between approval and vote is reported are located in the Central American democracies. In these societies, in general, a low democratic quality persists and immediate presidential re-election is prohibited. Both variables seem to justify the existence of a dynamic different from that found in the rest of the region. But such a perception does not hold once we resort to comparative analysis. |
