Description:From the second half of XIX century the most important liberal parameter concerning female education, was to strengthen traditional values ln order to make women citizens molder''. Strengthen women education meant therefore fortify republican institutions. Cultivating women was an objective, not to convert them into citizens but to accomplish their traditional role in a better way. During the previous years to the political emancipatlon of women (1949), the mayority of women had a distorted concept of their place in the society, due to the religious and machismo beliefs. Therefore, they hold fast to the existent social order because they thought this way they would defend their fundamental rights.
