Description:This study focuses on the analysis of theoretical texts that address the general notion of "Latin American Art". Successes and mistakes that theorists such as Juan Acha, Marjorie Ávila Salas, Ticio Escobar, César Fernández Moreno and Severo Sarduy had when formulating a theoretical approach to art, aesthetics, and Latin-American culture, as opposed to the theoretical principles of Western aesthetics, which are predominant in art history of this region, are observed.
