| Beschreibung: | A new species of phytomonad is described, found as a parasite in the latex of Ficus costarricana (Liebmann) Miquel. The name Phytomonas tortuosa is proposed for this species as it presents more torsions than any other species known to date. A list is given of species of Ficus reported as hosts for phytomonads. |
