Student Satisfaction with the Implementation of Flipped Classroom Methodology in the Database Applications Course

| Описание: | The inverted classroom is a popular active methodology known for its advantages, such as enhancing student motivation and improving class efficiency, despite posing challenges in computer tool preparation and mastery. This study aims to evaluate student satisfaction with the implementation of the flipped classroom methodology in the Database Applications course during the years 2022 and 2023. A descriptive quasi-experimental study was conducted to assess student behavior towards the methodology, training in data visualization, satisfaction levels, participation rates, and evaluations. Thirty-one students participated, using an instrument adapted and validated for content by expert judgment, showing high internal consistency with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.977. Participants were divided into three groups: those who rarely or never watched the videos (32.4%), sometimes watched (35.5%), and watched them frequently or always (32.3%). On average, students spent approximately 2 hours watching videos and 2.5 hours on exercises outside of class. Across all dimensions evaluated, average scores exceeded 4 points, indicating overall satisfaction with the methodology. Future research should encompass diverse subjects, instructors, and control groups to further explore the efficacy of flipped classroom approaches. |
