Description:A new stingless bee, Trigona (Liotrigona) dominicana, is described from the Oligocene amber of the Dominican Republic. The fossil bee is related to three living African species, and it might have belonged to a once larger group that could have been the ancestor stock of all the Hypotrigonas, Old World and American.
