Description:The notions of desert, sea, horizon, and that of duplication play a substantial importance in Mohamed El Morabet's El invierno de los jilgueros. The four motifs manage to design and arrange a subtle geometry of dichotomous tensions that structure the narrative composure of the novel. This article is intended as an approximation of the manifestations that such motifs take, with the purpose of proposing an interpretative reading of the meaning that they acquire within the work. The main objective is to show the mechanisms of articulation of those motives that are weaving in the narrative plot a pertinent and discreet cartography of dualities and symmetries, in order to polarize the global meaning of the text of the novel.
