Description:In this essay I question Anibal Quijanos statement that racism is the organizer of coloniality in America, through an epistemological analysis of the mark as a symbolic instrument in the service of the economic expansion of the Catholic Pope, having evangelization as a pretext. Furthermore, I propose that priest de las Casas” thought reconfigures the Christian episteme/identity, in the need to create a new place for the Catholic Church in regards to civilian power, in the “new world” of Modernity.
