| Diğer Bilgiler: | A redescription of the male, the female and the pupa of Simulium panamense Fairchild, 1940, is given based on several dozens of insects. The larva and the chaetotaxis of the pupa are described. Some data about the biology of this black fly, one of the most common species in Costa Rica, are also given, including the record of its antropophilous character, the controlling effect of the February-April droughts on its populations, and the plants preferred for its development. |
