| Miêu tả: | Lymphomas are malignant lymphoid tumors, which are divided into Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin types. Within the second group, there is a subtype called extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue. This subtype occurs mainly in women older than 50 years of age and is associated with certain chromosomal abnormalities, autoimmune diseases, immunosuppression status and chronic antigenic stimulation.Its diagnosis is based on imaging and histopathology studies and its treatment usually consists of inmunochemotherapy, radiotherapy or antibiotic treatment. It is of vital importance to make an early diagnosis to give an early treatment and in this way avoid complications.Of all the extranodal marginal zone lymphomas, 5-10% are located in the ocular annexes, of which 50 to 60% correspond to orbital lymphomas. On rare occasions they present bilaterally.In this paper we will describe the clinical presentation, diagnostic work and therapeutic management of a 54-year-old patient who developed an Extranodal Marginal Zone Lymphoma in her right orbit; as well as a brief review of the subject. |
