His analysis of the origin and evolution of Colombian poetry aims to identify its outstanding stylistic qualities, namely its balance of creative intuition coupled with a desire for spiritual transcendence, Romanticism’s legacy in the West, an exaltation of the national through the creative spirit of the highly sensitive individuality of the poet. |
