The Highlight: Some Resources to Highlight on Multimodal Texts

| תיאור: | In any written or oral text some elements stand out over others; this phenomenon or resource is called “emphasis” (realce). Emphasis is understood as a perceptual or semantic prominent location of semiotic elements within a text (Vergara-Heidke, 2012). Based on this proposal, in this article the resources identified in the analysis of emphasis on television news about crime in Costa Rica are presented and explained, and through them the methodological and argumentative process for their study is shown. In addition, the article offers new tools for working with multimodal texts. |
