| Popis: | This thesis is focused on the phenomenon of the selfie as a contemporary artistic practice exhibited on virtual spaces in social media platforms and web platforms of contemporary art institutions. On this basis, this study aims to analyze the significance of its emerging narratives. For this purpose, a careful analysis is conducted on the technical, aesthetical, “pluri-authorial”, and curatorial effects on some of the emerging narratives of the selfie. As an imperative step, this research will require the evaluation of the role of production resources and digital edition in the selfie making, the characterization of the disruption of authorship, and the role of the virtual space in the narrative and curatorial proposals of the selfie. The main purpose of this study is not only to defend the selfie as an art form but also to introduce its narrative proposals as valuable innovations in the photography genre. |
