| Descripció: | The ten Costa Rican species of Myoxanthus are discussed, described and illustrated based mainly on native living material. a key for the species, notes on history, ecology, diagnostic features, taxonomy and distribution maps are included. each species is illustrated with a line drawing and a Lankester composite dissection plate. Photographs of the morphological variation of sheaths, leaves, flowers and lips are provided. the identity of M. exasperatus is clarified and recircumscribed to include M. speciosus. Myoxanthus parahybunensis is reconsidered, and a lectotype is selected. |
