Descripción:The adoption of agricultural technologies is promoted as an alternative to increase the productivity of agrifood systems, improve food security, improve the income of producers, and adapt production systems to the challenges of climate change. Despite all these efforts, technology adoption is low in some regions. This research focused on identifying the critical factors influencing technology adoption in coffee producers in the Brunca Region of Costa Rica. Using the technology adoption index for the region, clusters were generated and used as independent variables for the development of an ordered probit model. Field data collection was carried out through visits during August 2021 for a total of 192 coffee farms. The results show that the determining variables in the adoption of technology are age, geographic location, average annual production level in bushels per hectare, education, years of coffee production, and the varieties used (Sarchimor and Obata)
