Description:In this project zinc oxide nano- and microstructures were synthesized on a transparent substrate of tin oxide-doped indium oxide (ITO) coated glass by chemical vapor deposition. The deposited material exhibits a wide range of morphologies, including homogeneous layer, straight and curved nanowires, polymorphic nanoparticles, nanotetrapods, microbars and microparticles. The results provethat the type of zinc oxide structures produced is strongly dependenton the distance between the zinc powder container and the substrate, the molar ratio O:Zn, and the synthesis time. The compound material produced has a great potential for being used in bio and dye sensitized solar cells as a photoanode.
