Descripció:The growing demand for video games is a widely recognized reality, framed within the universal right to leisure and recreation, as defined by the United Nations (UN). In this context, gamification is established as an effective strategy for making everyday activities more engaging and less routine. However, one aspect that continues to be neglected in video game design is the inclusion of accessibility mechanisms as an integral part of game mechanics. This article presents the case of Wave Quest: An Audible Odyssey, a video game developed with a focus on auditory accessibility for children with visual impairments. The proposal seeks to demonstrate how it is possible to design inclusive interactive experiences from the game’s conception, considering sound not only as an aesthetic resource, but also as the central axis of navigation, interaction, and feedback within the game environment. The theoretical foundations and methodological approach are addressed, with the aim of highlighting the value of accessible design in the video game industry.
