Opis:Renewable energy sources are an alternative to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and mitigate the high environmental impact associated with them. However, these energy sources are not exempt from generating carbon emissions. To quantify the carbon footprint associated with energy generation from sources such as nuclear, biomass, and wind energy, an analysis was conducted on the carbon emissions at each stage of the life cycle of each source. A variety of bibliographic sources were consulted, focusing on data published from 2010 onward. The information was organized into three tables to facilitate comparisons across each life-cycle stage of the different energy sources and to determine which produces a lower carbon footprint overall. Additionally, records on the use of these energy sources in the Latin American region were consulted to analyze the impact of various socioeconomic factors and assess the feasibility of adopting these energy sources.
