Descrizione:The relationship between morphological characteristics of the cuayote (Gonolobus edulis) fruit was quantified.  Between September and November 2024, fruits were collected from four cuayote accessions, and the following characteristics were evaluated: weight (g), length (mm), width (mm), thickness (mm), number of ventral wings (complete, incomplete and total), number of dorsal wings (complete, incomplete and total), total number of complete wings, total number of incomplete wings, total number of longitudinal wings, length:width ratio, length:thickness ratio, and width:thickness ratio.  Spearman’s correlation was calculated for the relationship between all variables, and also for the relationship between the altitude of the collection site and the other variables.  Twenty correlations were found between variables that were high (r≥0.63) and significant (p≤0.05), of which 13 were between variables related to the wings of the fruit.  A high positive correlation was found between altitude of the collection site and: weight (r=0.72**), width (r=0.66**), and thickness (r=0.71**) of the fruit.  This work constitutes the first report on the study of the relationships between morphological characteristics of cuayote fruits.
