Descrizione:This article will address some texts by Chilean writer Andrea Jeftanovic. It focuses on No aceptes caramelos de extraños (Don’t Take Candy from Strangers), but also deals with aspects related to interruptions of democratic life and its traumatic consequences found in Escenario de guerra (War Scenario). The analysis of these books provides a perspective on Jeftanovic’s consideration about women’s role in society and related to violence and women; it reviews data from history, especially from the dictatorship, or from the older ones to consider the treatment on the memory matter. It also addresses concepts derived from the emergence of the New Chilean Narrative. The theoretical contributions of Grínor Rojo, Rodrigo Cánovas, Patricia Espinosa, Macarena Areco, Marianne Hirsch, and Elizabeth Jelin, among others, were considered, which contribute to confirm the core nature of these topics in the narrative of Jeftanovic.
