Descripción: | In recent years, violence by sexual means has been approached by feminisms in a scenario of tension between theoretical postulates and the practical dimension of intervention or activism on the subject. Indeed, at a conceptual level, feminism affirms that violence is a structural social phenomenon rooted in patriarchy, as well as explaining the relationship between violence and the configuration of hegemonic masculinity. However, when episodes of gender violence occur, from some sectors of society that include feminisms, greater penalties, punishments and strategies are requested to address the conflict that individualize and pathologize the men involved. This article deals with this tension, especially in relation to violence by sexual means, through the analysis of the prescriptive texts that were made from criminal justice, the media and local feminisms regarding three empirical references of Argentina. As a result of the investigation, we found that violence by sexual means produces practical encounters between conservative, neoliberal and feminist readings on this subject, which do not allow reparation strategies for the victims or the dismantling of hegemonic masculinity. |
