Sick institutions, teaching experiences in social sciences in the face of “A crime called education”

| विवरण: | The purpose of this text is to share findings regarding educational intervention experiences in the training of first-year students in programs such as Law, Psychology, and Communication Sciences, compared under normal conditions with that of Public Administration at the University of Sonora, Mexico. The "control group" methodology is used during the first semesters of 2019-2 and 2023-2, with the motto "Teaching Science by Doing Science." The mandatory regular content of the course called "Introduction to Social Sciences" is followed with an experimental and a control group. The experimental group does not include exams and focuses on fostering creativity. The evaluation is subdivided as follows: 50% for a text similar to a scientific dissemination article and the rest for attendance, a presentation for National Social Sciences Week, a glossary of concepts, and various team assignments. The goal is to move from considering students as mere repositories of memorized knowledge to a holistic view of them and their interactions, supporting their intellectual development with the ability to critically and purposefully create and recreate reality. In addition, unlike the control group, which only encourages theoretical retention, they are encouraged to learn about the history of science, its conceptualization, paradigms, typologies of disciplinary actions, types of research, etc., attempting to apply it. Students are encouraged to view themselves as social scientists capable of generating new, cutting-edge knowledge. The results are primarily compared with the results of an anthropological-educational study conducted in 14 countries by Jürgen Klaric in 2017. |
