Περιγραφή:This article analyzes the mother-daughter relationship in Arabella Salaverry’s text Rastro de sal (2020). From various feminists theories, it is shown that the bond between a woman-mother and a woman-daughter is complex due to the laws of the father. These laws divide women and make their connection difficult, thus prohibiting the transmission of knowledge and love between them. In this way, the representation of the female protagonists in the chapters, in relation to their mothers, is built on distance, silence and guilt. In conclusion, the lives of the women in the family are conditioned by the demands of heteropatriarchal system, which assigns specific roles and spaces to the female subject, especially in the institution of motherhood. In this regard, the mother completely surrenders to social impositions, abandoning herself and her daughter.
