Descripción:This article is a case study on the Costa Rican film Presos (2015) by director Esteban Ramírez. The main objective is to carry out a psychosocial analysis through three theoretical lines, Marxism promoted by Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud's Psychoanalysis and Feminism from the perspective of Norma Blázquez 2017, each theory supported by other authors. Throughout the writing, you can find examples of scenes in the film, analyzed by applying the theoretical concepts. Broadly explained, the analysis makes evident how the capitalist system is still operating today, how inhibiting behaviors-thoughts causes discomfort, or how feminism expresses strong criticism of gender inequality. Finally, it is concluded that classic theories, despite their longevity, continue to be useful in explaining our reality.
