Descrizione:Introduction: Based on research that combines a gender perspective with media studies, this article reconstructs the perceptions and experiences of women journalists working in the media sector in the city of Rafaela, placing these reflections within a characterization of the ecosystem of traditional and new digital media in the Castellanos department active during the years 2022-2024 and their organizational structures. Objective: To develop an analytical framework to understand how gender inequality manifests itself in work experiences in the city of Rafaela, Santa Fe province, Argentina. Methodology: The strategy used is based on a media survey of the Castellanos department in the province of Santa Fe, using a questionnaire to characterize the information and communication sector in that territory and, in particular, to situate the media sector in the city of Rafaela. It is complemented by in-depth interviews with women who work in this field in that city. Results: Particularities related to gender inequalities observed in the media of the aforementioned city are identified, highlighting problematic issues such as work overload, lack of recognition, and situations of violence faced by women working in the information and communication sector.
