Descripción:In the section “Earthly Poems” –originally published in 1964 but added to the second expanded edition of Milagro abierto (1969)– man-woman relationships are examined in relation to fertilization and procreation, and a more open view of motherhood, one in which men participate and partner in the couple’s daily life. This article studies how the male poetic voice creates emotional ties with both the partner in labor and the newborn, in a way that extols the labor process and the bravery of women.
