Description:This article reviews the theoretical elements that underpin the Restorative Justice Law of Costa Rica. It analyzes the criteria that led to the introduction of Restorative Justice as a complementary methodology to the criminal process, as well as its organization. The analysis covers the role of each party, the novelty of incorporating the community in a more active role, and giving greater prominence to the victims of crimes.
