Opis:Introduction: In Colombia, the art of classical clowning in the 20th century has been scarcely studied. With the aim of contributing to our understanding of this field, this text presents a systematic overview of an exploratory, qualitative study focused on analyzing this art form. Development: The process included the review of primary and secondary sources, as well as the identification and interviewing of stakeholders linked to the sector in different regions of the country. Drawing an analogy with the moments leading up to the performance, this essay explores the key elements of traditional Colombian clowning, its use as a strategy for engaging with vulnerable communities, the mechanisms through which knowledge is transmitted, the dramatic structure of the shows, and their presence on public television. Conclusion: The study concludes that this performing practice, rooted in the collective imagination, generates aesthetic experiences that impact daily life and maintains a relevant cultural value in the current Colombian context.
