Descripción:The Grand Lodge of the Island of Cuba, the main symbolic body of Cuban Freemasonry, suffered during the years 1929-1933 due to the serious crisis that affected the Cuban society. This paper addresses the positioning of the Masonic government facing the political situation, using as a fundamental source, approaches in their official press La Gran Logia journal. It starts from the premise that Freemasonry is not a political institution, but its operation is forced to take a stand on problems that affect it. What was the position of the Grand Lodge of the Island of Cuba on the current crisis? How did it express its position without violating the Masonic precepts of not discussing politics? These are the questions that this work aims to answer.
