Deskribapena:30 years have passed since Judith Butler's celebrated book Gender Trouble, in which this author questions gender as a power structure that naturalizes binarism. Unfortunately, this period of time has not been sufficient to effectively undo the notion of gender, and theoretical proposals have been found within gender studies that seem to only contribute to a state of transition. Thus, the present text seeks to return to Butler's proposal and, with the support of some queer theory approaches, reflect on the need to modify and put into perspective the notion of gender, considering the increasingly significant presence of groups that demand a legitimate recognition of a non-binary gender. In conclusion, it is stated that gender is a classification that is no longer applicable to the current needs for inclusion and diversity.
