Opportunities and Challenges of Disaster Risk Education in Chile

Descripción:This article intends to create a systematic bibliographical review of the studies on Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and education at national and international levels in order to identify challenges and highlight areas of opportunity that allow contribute to improving the political-educational agenda on DRM in Chile. Concerning the methodology, the authors employed a documentary systematic review of four databases. Moreover, the analyzed documents were selected based on the following criteria: keywords, publication date between 2018 and 2023, open access, Social Sciences and Education fields. Therefore, the investigators created a corpus of 34 reviewed documents. Finally, the authors conclude that it is necessary to generate a greater academic production and bet on the incorporation of DRM in the educational area, including the theme in the formal curriculum and promoting teacher preparation and the participation of children through various public policies.
