Descripción: | The objective of this study is to know the gains and losses of online teaching implemented due to a pandemic among students of the University System for the Elderly (SUAM) of the University of Guadalajara. A qualitative methodology was carried out referring to a case study with phenomenological interpretation of 12 students of this System. The pandemic changed the current gait of older people by being classified as a vulnerable group. Within these modifications, the spaces destined for the social interaction of the elderly population were closed, including the SUAM where the methodological structure was modified, however, the resilience and adaptation to change in the elderly pointed out a transcendental learning. Therefore, the pandemic in this educational context entailed changes, impacts, but incredibly also gains that highlighted lifelong education in older people as part of a more active and healthy aging. If universities move from the recognition of a better aging we could envision an education for all ages. |
