One disappointment after another. Private industry and its relationship with the governments of the Partido Coalición Unidad (PCU) and the Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN) in the period of economic restructuring (1978-1985)

| Popis: | This study analyzes the relationship between the Costa Rican Chamber of Industries (CICR) and the administrations of Rodrigo Carazo and Luis Alberto Monge during the period January 1978–April 1985, with the aim of determining whether these administrations met the industrial sector’s political and economic expectations. Aqualitative approach was employed through discourse analysis, using El Industrial supplement as the main source. The study shows that neither the PCU nor the return of the PLN aligned with the sector’s demands. |
