Descripción:This article discusses Jose Martí’s theoretical and critical point of view on the role of both teacher training and innovative features of a curriculum that will allow the overall development of people and social equity. Along the lines of Marti, teacher training is the key to the transformation of the educational model. The curriculum is the way to develop a society which promotes emancipation and development of individuals who (1) are capable of improving their emotional, cognitive, artistic and physical potential and (2) foster positive values.
