Descripción:The objective of this work was to evaluate theresponse of tomato hybrids to three fertilization-wateringprograms based on recommendations of dose compiledfrom the literature (LIT), curves of absorption (CA), andadjustments of information previously analized (AJU).From October 2008 to March 2009, two tomato hybrids(FB-17 and DRD-8108) were grown in the greenhouse ofthe Fabio Baudrit Moreno Agricultural Research Station inAlajuela, Costa Rica. No signifi cant statistical differenceswere found in the commercial performance in none of thethree fertilization treatments; signifi cant differences amongthe hybrids were observed. The hybrid DRD-8108 surpassedFB-17. FB-17 hybrid yield for treatment LIT was 69.3 t/haand 5.87 kg/plant; in the CA treatment was 75.5 t/ha and6.39 kg/plant; and in the AJU treatment 76.4 t/ha and 6.62kg/plant, respectively. For the DRD-8108 hybrid, the LITtreatment yield was 85.4 t/ha and 8.55 kg/plant; in the CAtreatment was 86.7 t/ha and 7.45 kg/plant; fi nally in the AJUtreatment yield was 83.9 t/ha and 7.38 kg/plant. The highinternal greenhouse temperature was the main limiting factorthat constrained yield.
