תיאור:Introduction: This study explores the biographical impacts of the multiple trajectories and affiliations of political participation among activists in community-based civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Western Region of Costa Rica. Methods: Using a narrative methodology and a biographical approach, the study first analyzes the multiple trajectories and affiliations of these individuals within different organizational structures, and then examines the impact this has had on their private lives, taking into account personal aspects—such as family and professional relationships and identity—arising from their involvement in social movements. Results: The findings show that participation, viewed through the lens of multiple trajectories and affiliations, has both objective and subjective impacts within the context of tensions arising from the work undertaken and its connections. The research contributes to understanding how activism impacts daily life and individual development, linking to processes of resistance and social transformation at the local level. Conclusions: This approach allows us to address the dialectical relationship between political, economic, and social structures and the unique histories of these individuals.
