Descripción:Introduction: In Western culture, the so-called primitivism is a central concept in Eurocentrism. In this reflection, the transformations of primitivism in both Europe and American cultures are analyzed to understand the traces of Eurocentrism in the visual arts. Development: By comprehending the twists and turns of primitivism, which we depict as a journey, we recognized the limits and contradictions of Eurocentrism replicated on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Conclusion: Identifying this journey of primitivism as a Eurocentric concept allows to expand the discussion on the relationship of the Same and the Other, allowing the transformation of old paradigms.
