Descripción:This article presents the university extension project "Creating Programming Capacities in Youth and Teachers in both Secondary and Higher Education", which has among its objectives to be a space (workshop) to motivate the student population of primary and secondary education in teaching programming. This document indicates some of the problems of gender equality in certain careers in the STEM area (for its acronym in English: science, technology, engineering, mathematics). In the workshops carried out, the female student population is encouraged to enter the study of these careers and are given examples of women in the area, so that they can consider these careers in their professional future. In conclusion, these spaces allow the project to be known as an option to reduce the gender gap in Costa Rica.
