Descripción: | The different stages in the development of aproject entitled “Educational Campaign to increase beanconsumption” are presented in this article. The Campaign’sobjective was to “Increase bean consumption in the CostaRican middle-class urban population”, and to helpcounterbalance an increasing reduction in consumption ofthis food, particularly in urban areas. The article intends toprovide an overall view of the project, allowing readers togain perspective of the project as a whole, while alsoreferring them to specific articles with the details on thedifferent stages and results. The methodology describes thegeneral characteristics of the approach used, and the wayeach one of the phases was carried out. The resultssummarize the findings of the final evaluation and otherglobal aspects of the project. In addition, the project providesguidelines for an approach to nutritional education focusedon one single food, supported by the population’s socioculturalreality. |
