Descripción:The objective of this article is to analyze and describe the reality of University Social Responsibility (RSU), it constitutes a conceptual and analytical approach  to its practice in university institutions, based on the strategic model of RSU management in the world context and mainly in Latin America, analyzing its role in social development, from its knowledge and implementation in the models of academic management and linkage with social problems and development. The methodology used contemplates a planning phase, execution of the search for documentary information, discussion phase and interpretation of the information. The management of the RSU requires greater participation and commitment from the stakeholders, according to the impact and affectation it generates in them; it is essential that it is implemented in the organizational philosophy and in the strategic planning of the university; its practice must be framed in ethical actions that guide its procedures within the framework of a sustainable university management that generates value to society.
