| 实物特征: | This article describes the origins of dancehall culture in Jamaica and its transnationalization from the Greater Caribbean to the main cities of Colombia –Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali–. It proposes a reconstruction and periodization of the historical memory of this genre based on a historical and geographical analysis, as well as the results of eight interviews and one hundred surveys conducted with Colombian dancers, teachers, and promoters who were pioneers in learning and transforming this culture in the national context. The analysis reveals a powerful transculturation of dancehall through the urban appropriation of music, the transformation of dance practice spaces, and new cultural adaptations, including the challenge to traditional gender roles. |
