الوصف:This study explores the representation of religious syncretism in the lexicon of Brazilian samba and its implications for the teaching and learning of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PFL).Following a qualitative approach, the study focuses on the lyrics of two samba compositions as examples of this textual genre. The aim is to identify, describe, analyze, and categorize selected terms and expressions of African origin and their cultural relevance within PFL contexts while also helping to prevent the development of stereotypes. The study is grounded in the theoretical concepts of lexicography and lexiculture.  The lexical items examined, even if part of everyday usage in Brazil, carry complex cultural and historical meanings that may not be fully accessible to either teachers or learners. The insights generated by this study can support the creation of authentic teaching materials that better reflect Brazil's rich cultural diversity and constitute valuable pedagogical resources in Portuguese language classrooms.
