Excessive duration of criminal proceedings has implications for all parties to the process, in relation to access to justice; the extinction or injury of the legal situations invoked, due to the passage of time; affecting the principle of freedom, the presumption of innocence and those specific cases related to pretrial detention, in which this precautionary measure is dictated; and for society in general it entails both economic and political implications, which this scientific article aims to analyze. |
