| Descripción: | Standard glass McPhail traps using two lures for Anastrepha fruit flies, were tested in an unsprayed non-commercial orchard of common guava (Psidium guajava L.) (Myrtaceae), during a 30-day study period. Traps were baited with either an aqueous solution of Torula dried yeast and sodium borate, or humane urine. Two species of Anastrepha were captured: A. striata Schiner and A. obliqua (Macq.). The urine was approximately 10 times (p < 0.05) more effective than Torula yeast. |
