Diğer Bilgiler:This article is a comparison between fixed phone and cellular phone survey methodology. We propose a new methodological tool for future work, when conductinga phone survey using fixed phones or cellular phones or a combination of both. The study sheds light on the fact that there are not meaningful differences in the time it takes to apply the survey by either means but there is a relevant dissimilarity related to the monetary costs, due to the fact that cell phone service is more expensive than the other. In addition, the interviewed subjects’ availability analysis demonstrated no important differences between users of fixed phones and users of cellular phones, and it established a higher degree of subjects’ availability from Monday through Friday during the evenings and Saturday afternoons. Furthermore, the work defines the differences in the socio-demographic profile of users in both technologies. The study also investigates differences in communication problems related to each of the phonetechnologies, such as non-answering rate, recalling needs, and other communication problems related to each of the phone technologies.
