| Description: | Solenidium includes three species found from northern to central South America. They are characterized by free, similar sepals and petals, a trilobed lip with a grooved claw, and a winged column with two ceraceous pollinia. The presence of Solenidium lunatum in Colombia has been confirmed, specifically within the Sierra de la Macarena National Natural Park. Historically, its record within Colombian territory was uncertain, despite mentions in catalogs and a fragmented specimen (K–SPC–61118.000) lacking precise collection data. This discovery confirms its known distribution, which spans from northern South America (Colombia, Venezuela) to the Brazilian Cerrado, mainly in areas with granitic formations |
