Descripción: | This article proposes that science fiction texts are produced based on an interaction with the social context, contradicting traditional definitions about science fiction as an evasive and advertising genre. Also, the critical aspect of science fiction is illustrated with two Costa Rican short stories that, by using dystopia and utopia, show some dubious aspects of the Costa Rican democratic society. |
